Het ontvangen van terugkerende donaties is voor stichtingen met WordPress lang niet altijd vanzelfsprekend. Nederland kent veel stichtingen. Er zijn een kleine 50.000 organisaties met een ANBI-erkenning en het aantal groeit sterk. Niet heel vreemd, want Nederland behoort tot de meest vrijgevende landen. Het Hudson Institute, gevestigd in de Verenigde Staten, ontdekte tijdens een onderzoek in 2015 dat Nederland de beste fiscale voorzieningen én het meest vrijgevige klimaat heeft.
